When I Interviewed Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli.

I joined the Nepal Scout during my fifth grade. Being a scout meant I would be part of the large scout community who were thrilled not only for new adventures, but also for the idea of creating meaningful impact on the society through community works. Through Scout, I got the opportunity to go to a remote area of my country. During that visit, I saw the lack of accessibility of education there.

At that time, I felt education not being accessible at those places didn’t allow people to be aware of the bigger issues and challenges. 

The thought of playing a part in spreading education stuck with me. When I later became the Scout troop leader at my school, I felt that I could use my leadership position to contribute. As a Scout leader, I personally coached over 100 junior scouts at my school.

Scout also gave me numerous opportunities to lead which shaped my leadership skills. Due to my dedication and passion, I was chosen among the top four scouts in the nation to interview the then Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli in the program organized by Nepal Scout which was broadcast on the national television. I brought up the issues of accessibility of education in different places of Nepal in front of the Prime Minister. 

I used the biggest platform that I received to advocate for the accessibility of education. The Prime Minister also went back to his memory lane and answered our questions about his childhood and the things he does when he is free from the official works.

The Prime Minister discussed his upcoming plans for the nation and answered our questions gracefully. He discussed his ideas regarding nation's welfare and even took time to answer some questions from the audience. The audience comprised of scouts from all over Nepal and young scouts from various schools. I had such a great time at the event. It was a great honor for me to be selected to interview the Prime Minister of the nation.
